Giveaways and events

Raffles drawn in the group, and countdown posters for the partnered conventions

Giveaways

An admin starts a raffle, members enter with a button, and the bot draws.

/giveaway Fursuit of Mekhy
/giveaway

Starts a raffle for whatever you name after the command. Admins only.

Forget the prize and the bot asks for it. A member who is not an admin is told they cannot start one.

What happens, in order:

  1. The bot asks how many winners, offering one button for each count from one to five.
  2. Picking a count announces the giveaway in the group, naming the full prize, and pins it. The announcement carries an enter button and an end button.
  3. Members press enter. Pressing it twice is refused — the bot says they are already in.
  4. An admin presses end. The bot announces the winner with the prize, and asks whether to draw more.

Two things the buttons enforce that a group would otherwise have to police itself: only an admin can end a giveaway, and a giveaway nobody entered ends by saying so rather than drawing from an empty hat.

Giveaways follow Utility Functions in /config.

Convention posters

Six commands post a picture of a partnered event, captioned with a countdown to it — and, while it is happening, saying so.

/bff

Brasil Fur Fest.

/patas

Patas.

/fursmeet

Fursmeet.

/furcamp

Furcamp.

/pawstral

Pawstral.

/trex

Trex Furplayer — a picture, and no caption.

These six ignore both family switches. A group that has turned Fun and Utility off still gets its convention posters — v1 dispatched them outside both gates, and community groups built around a convention would notice immediately if that changed.

/trex is the odd one: it has pictures and no date, so it posts one and says nothing. If a deployment has never had its poster library catalogued, these commands send nothing at all rather than an error.

Event skins

A convention often runs its own bot: Bombot for Brasil Fur Fest, Pawsy for Pawstral, Tarinbot for SC Furs. Same core, different name, avatar, wording and command set — see skins.
